My name is Mrs. Freda and I feel very privileged to be the librarian at Forest and Laning. I am a graduate of William Paterson University where I earned a B.A. in Liberal Arts with concentrations in, Elementary Education, English and Sociology. I also attended William Paterson Graduate School where I earned my School Library Media Certification as well as my K-6 teaching certification. I started my career as a Media Specialist in the Clifton Public Schools. I joined the staff here in Verona in 2016 and have quickly come to love being a part of this wonderful community. Growing up I always knew I belonged in the library, so after being a stay at home mom for 10 years I decided to head back to school and get my certification. My love of reading and children led to me to the decision that the elementary school library is where I wanted to be. I have lived in Verona for the past 20 years and am the mother to three wonderful children. Outside of school I love to spend time with my family, cook and of course read!
My Vision Statement
The Library Media Center will be the hub of the school, a place where teachers and students are eager to come to learn, create and explore. Upon entering the warm and welcoming environment of the Library students and staff will be transported into a world of 21st learning and technology.
My Mission
The mission of The Library Media Center is to empower students to become lifelong learners by enriching the curriculum through a variety of materials and informational resources. In doing so, I will be focusing on creating interest, appreciation and a love of reading.
